Sustainable Transport issues

A comprehensive solution is required

Sustainable freight transport can be identified as future-oriented and is task for the future. More roads represented no solution and leads to a rebound effect.

Smart, green and integrated transport solution should be the goal.

Today’s freight transport is not sustainable! Certain transport face important delays, that represent a barrier to transport and lead to economic losses and environmental load.

The European transport sector faces several challenges for which innovation may play an important role. The EU set a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in particular the transport sector needs to be decarbonized.

For the assessment of individual transport task, a special benchmark tool is needed which takes into account different aspects of transport scenarios. An indicator has been developed, which implements economic and sustainable criteria.
